Payments are processed by third-party payment providers.

Depending on the payment method available and selected at checkout, these may include:

  • WooPayments, which uses payment infrastructure provided in partnership with Stripe; and

  • PayPal, through WooCommerce PayPal Payments.

THMath does not intentionally store complete payment-card numbers or card security codes in its WordPress database where those details are collected through the payment provider’s secure payment system.

For recurring subscriptions or saved payment methods, THMath may store or use secure payment references or tokens supplied by the payment provider. These allow future payments to be processed without THMath storing the complete underlying card details.

Payment providers may provide THMath with limited information required to administer an order, such as payment status, payment method, amount, transaction identifier and limited payment-method information.

Payment providers process information in accordance with their own privacy policies and legal obligations.

Website and technical information

When you access THMath, we or our service providers may automatically process technical information including:

  • date and time of access;

You may control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Restricting essential cookies may prevent account, checkout or other website functionality from operating correctly.

8. Payments

THMath uses third-party payment providers rather than directly processing complete card details itself.

WooPayments and Stripe

Where WooPayments is used, payment processing is provided through WooPayments using payment infrastructure operated in partnership with Stripe.

Secure hosted payment fields are used to collect sensitive card information. Complete card numbers and card security codes entered through those fields are not stored on THMath’s website server.

THMath may receive or retain information such as:

  • customer name;

  • billing details;

  • transaction amount;

  • payment status;

  • payment method;

  • transaction identifier; and

  • secure payment tokens or references required for subscriptions.

PayPal

Where PayPal is selected, information necessary to authorise, process and manage the transaction is exchanged with PayPal.

PayPal may provide THMath with information necessary to administer the order or subscription, such as:

  • customer name;

  • email address;

  • billing information;

  • transaction amount;

  • payment status; and

  • transaction identifier.

Payment providers may also process information for fraud prevention, payment security, legal compliance and dispute management.

9. WooCommerce, subscriptions and memberships

THMath uses WooCommerce and related WooCommerce extensions to administer purchases, subscriptions and membership access.

Information stored or processed through these systems may include:

  • account details;

  • billing information;

  • orders;

  • transaction information;

  • subscriptions;

  • membership entitlements;

  • renewal information;

  • refunds;

  • shopping-cart sessions;

  • tax information; and

10. Taxes and currency

THMath uses WooCommerce functionality to calculate and administer applicable taxes.

Information necessary for tax calculation may include:

Tax and transaction records may be retained where required for taxation, accounting or legal purposes.

THMath may also provide currency-conversion functionality.

11. Website hosting

THMath is hosted using Hostinger infrastructure.

The primary server currently used to host THMath is located in India.

Information stored or processed through the hosting infrastructure may include:

  • website account information;

  • database information;

  • IP addresses;

  • server requests;

  • server logs;

  • order and subscription data;

  • website files;

  • backups; and

  • technical and security information.

Hostinger or its service providers may also process information in other locations where reasonably necessary to provide hosting, support, security or backup services.

12. Website security

THMath uses security technologies including Wordfence and other WordPress security and login-management tools.

These systems may process information such as:

  • IP addresses;

  • usernames or account identifiers;

  • login attempts;

  • requested URLs;

  • browser and request information;

  • timestamps;

  • security events; and

  • information relating to suspected malicious activity.

This information is used to detect attacks, block malicious traffic, protect accounts, investigate security incidents and maintain the integrity of the website.

13. Videos and educational content

THMath uses Presto Player and related website infrastructure to provide educational video content.

Where videos are hosted through THMath’s own hosting infrastructure, technical information required to deliver the requested video may be processed, including:

  • IP address;

  • login or access status;

  • requested content;

  • browser or device information; and

  • technical playback requests.

If THMath introduces an additional third-party video hosting or content-delivery service in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated where that materially changes the handling of personal information.

14. Practice sheets and documents

THMath provides practice questions, worked solutions and other educational documents through the website.

Technical information necessary to provide those resources may be recorded through normal website and server logs.

THMath’s PDF embedding functionality does not itself require users to provide additional personal information simply to view a document.

15. Service providers

THMath relies on third parties to provide parts of its website and business infrastructure.

Depending on the service being used, these may include:

THMath does not sell lists of users’ personal information to data brokers or unrelated third parties for monetary payment.

17. Overseas processing and disclosure

THMath is operated from Australia, but some of the technology providers used to operate the service are located overseas or use overseas infrastructure.

Personal information may therefore be stored, accessed or processed outside Australia.

Countries in which recipients or service providers are currently likely to process information include:

  • India, including THMath’s primary Hostinger server;

  • Ireland, including certain WooCommerce and Automattic operations;

  • the United States of America, including certain WooCommerce, Automattic, payment and security-provider operations; and

  • other countries in which payment providers or their authorised subprocessors operate.

The exact infrastructure used by international technology providers may change over time.

Where Australian privacy law imposes obligations on THMath in relation to an overseas disclosure, THMath will take reasonable steps required by that law.

18. Marketing communications

THMath may send marketing communications where you have consented, where consent can lawfully be inferred, or where otherwise permitted by law.

Where required, marketing communications will provide a clear method of unsubscribing.

You may opt out of marketing communications at any time.

Opting out of marketing does not prevent THMath from sending communications reasonably necessary to administer your account or subscription, including:

  • payment receipts;

  • subscription or renewal information;

  • password-reset emails;

19. Children and young people

THMath provides educational content that may be accessed by school-aged users, including users under 18.

THMath does not currently require users to provide their date of birth simply to create a normal account.

20. Artificial intelligence and automated decisions

THMath does not currently use personal information to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on users.

If THMath later introduces artificial-intelligence features, automated learning recommendations or other systems that materially change how users’ personal information is processed, this Privacy Policy will be reviewed and updated where required.

21. How long we retain personal information

THMath keeps personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it is held, or as required or permitted by law.

Order, payment, subscription and taxation records may need to be retained after an account has been closed.
